We hope this provides those considering The Providence Center with needed and relevant information, guidance on the admissions process, and other key elements of this important first step. Please do not hesitate to contact us should you have questions.
Providence Center offers the best care for adults with developmental disabilities in the area. The range of programs and services we provide are unparalleled among other providers – allowing us to meet the personal needs of everyone we serve and work towards integrating each person further into the community through Communities of Practice. By selecting Providence Center as your provider of choice, you are enabling your loved one to receive the best possible care and the opportunities to develop skills that are needed to advance their abilities.
Our person-centered approach focuses on providing greater independence and quality care to those we serve. Choosing Providence Center means putting every individual we care for first, while our professional staff works closely with families, caregivers, and government agencies to ensure that participants' needs are met.
We want to ensure that every person at Providence Center has a personal plan that works for them to achieve what they want in their lives. A seamless transition into the Providence Center family is our goal when transitioning from youth services to adult care.
Our Admissions staff personally works with prospective families throughout the process of discerning whether Providence Center is the right fit. Tours of Providence Center facilities are available and encouraged so that you can see firsthand what we have to offer.
To schedule a tour of one or all of Providence Center's five facilities, please contact Rosemary Elger at relger@providencecenter.com or at (443)828-2757.
Medical and supervision needs are assessed to determine the level of care and support for each individual. Vocational training at every level is offered, including working as a team at our production facilities or creating retail products in our pottery, art, and woodworking studios or our greenhouse. Many of our individuals earn a paycheck as a subcontractor in our mail and production studios or by creating items for sale at our facilities or through our retail partners.
Finding ways for each of our participants to have a role in their community is at the heart of what we do. The key to all of this is a large transportation fleet of 62 vans and buses, providing a critical link to the many opportunities our community has to offer.
Our mission enables us to lead the way for our participants to shape their own lives and create their own futures. Empowering people by providing the tools they need to chart their own path is why we do what we do.
