There’s saying that goes, “90 percent of life is just showing up.” But showing up is one of the challenges that adults with developmental disabilities face when crafting a fuller life.
Providence Center recognizes that being able to “show up” is imperative to our person-centered approach. That is why we have one of the largest fleets of vans and buses to transport those we serve to their jobs, residential programs, volunteer and social activities, and home with family.
When we started in 1961, Providence Center had just one van. Now we have approximately 50 vans, trucks, and cars that crisscross our highways, byways, and neighborhoods ensuring that Providence Center individuals can be present, active citizens and enjoy stimulating experiences in their daily lives.
Headquartered at our Jean Bradbury Building on Shore Acres Drive in Arnold, our vast transportation system enables our individuals to be empowered by having access to transportation.
Transportation hours are Mon-Fri 6:00 a.m. - 6:00 p.m. and the after hours emergency contact number is 443-603-6525.
To learn more about Providence Center’s transportation capabilities and availability, contact Melissa Gordon, Director of Transportation, at mgordon@providencecenter.com or at (410)757-8190.
In the case of inclement weather or emergencies, please watch WJZ-TV or listen to WBAL 1090 AM at approximately 6:15 AM to learn the status of our transportation vehicles.
