About Our Pottery Classes
We offer pottery wheel and hand-building classes for students of all skill levels. Classes are ages 16 & up unless otherwise specified in our class schedule. Spring, Summer, and Winter sessions available.

2019 Class Schedule
Fall Luminaries, $45
Friday, September 13, 6:00-8:00pm
Instructor: Ashley Wright
Create a custom, fall themed luminary to light up your indoor or outdoor space. Our pottery instructor will guide you through the process of hand building, carving, and decorating a fall themed luminary.
Beginner Pottery Wheel, $185
Monday evenings, September 1- November 4, 6:00-8:00pm
Instructor: Lydia Ferwerda
During this six-week introductory class, learn the basic steps and techniques of creating wheel-thrown pottery. Each week, the instructor will present a new technique or skill and students will have time to create for the remainder of the class. Projects include pinch pots, mugs, and soup bowls. Fee includes 25 pounds of clay, glaze, and firing. No prior pottery experience necessary. Students will receive open studio time during the final three weeks of class.
Intermediate Pottery Wheel, $225
Tuesday evenings, October 1- November 5, 6:00-8:00pm
Instructor: Tom Wright
Students who have already grasped the basics of wheel throwing will be introduced to more advanced techniques to create a variety of forms. Learn how to trim on the wheel, alter and decorate pottery, and create complex forms such as vases, plates, and lidded vessels. Fee includes 50 pounds of clay, open studio time, glaze, and firing. Class fee includes 6 weeks of open studio time. Beginner Pottery Wheel class or prior experience is required.

Try out the potter’s wheel and learn the basic techniques of making wheel-thrown pottery in this two-hour class. We will discuss the process of making pottery, from wet clay to a finished piece. Perfect for those not ready to commit to a six-week class or just looking for a fun, evening activity. Includes instruction, 2 lbs. of clay, and all necessary tools. Pottery created in the class will be ready for pick up two weeks later. No experience required.
