Person-Centered Planning at Providence Center

The Focus Is on the Individual

With the goal of improving the lives of adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities, Providence Center’s person-centered planning approach focuses on the individual and tailors programs and services to meet his or her personal goals emphasizing productive, meaningful roles in the community.

Our unique person-centered approach allows people to direct the support they want to chart their future and achieve their goals.

Building a Stronger Community

Person-centered planning has gained greater support from providers and government agencies in recent years but has always been a cornerstone of Providence Center. It has improved the transition of youth into adult programs and the successful outcomes of those programs. This key strategy has increased awareness and outreach, building stronger community support and new partnerships.

By emphasizing person-centered planning, Providence Center has focused on programs that help people seek community employment. Our supported employment program and community partners are key to achieving each individual’s goals as well as a good quality of life. Community integration is essential, and being involved in the community is key to gaining a fulfilling life with new experiences and positive relationships!
