Horticulture Program at Providence Center in Anne Arundel County, MD
The horticulture program at Providence Center provides vocational training for people with intellectual and developmental disabilities in a working nursery. The people in our horticulture program are continuously gaining in-depth knowledge of horticulture and are building the valuable professional skills necessary for community employment. Not only are the people in our horticulture program learning how to grow and sustain beautiful plants native to Maryland, but they are also gaining job training that provides the skills needed to achieve greater independence.

Environmental Restoration in the Chesapeake Bay Region
Our horticulture team is contributing to our community through important environmental restoration projects, including the rebuilding of Poplar Island in the Chesapeake Bay. By participating in our horticulture program, people at Providence Center are making the environment a greener, happier place.
In partnership with the Magothy River Association and Anne Arundel Community College, our wetlands program also offers floating gardens to help Maryland homeowners enhance their waterfront and clean our local waterways. Through their work, Providence Center’s Greenhouse and Gardens bring joy to both our Maryland neighbors and the earth as a whole.
