Success Stories at Providence Center

Jessica’s Story

Jessica holds a lot of responsibility at Providence Center. She’s a goal-oriented, compassionate person who is always supporting her friends and eager to help staff. Jessica spends her time visiting other programs to get to know everyone in the building. Jessica’s job at Providence Center is to work in an office staff capacity. She distributes daily staff assignments, shreds old documents, runs errands for the nurses, and sits with the receptionist in the afternoon.

Jessica is actively developing social skills to interact more autonomously with her peers. She uses an iPad to overcome some challenges with communication and more clearly articulate her wants and needs, as well as those of her friends. She will use this iPad as she moves out into the community to help establish new relationships and to gain the independence that coincides with discovering her voice.

The future is bright for Jessica. Opportunities to develop close friendships are ripe at Providence Center and beyond. Because she enjoys rich community experiences, we know that Jessica will not only continue to contribute to Providence Center but that she will also contribute to the world around her.
